Brian Adams, M.D.

 

Brian Adams, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship-trained interventional pain physician. He completed a multidisciplinary pain fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2022. He is focused not only on providing advanced interventional techniques of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral spine but also in painful conditions involving peripheral nerves and joints. During his fellowship, he gained expertise on the latest innovations aimed at reducing pain while regaining physical function and quality of life.

Dr. Adams attended medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine before completing his anesthesiology residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.  He served as a chief resident his final year.  He is a board-certified anesthesiologist and practiced general anesthesia for seven years before focusing on pain management.  Dr. Adams pairs his training with a compassionate patient-centered approach to overcome chronic pain.

Dr. Adams lives in Bloomington with his wife and two children. He enjoys traveling the US and is an avid fan of Indiana University athletics.

John Arbuckle, M.D.

 

John W. Arbuckle, M.D., is a minimally invasive spine specialist with Indiana Spine Group focusing on spinal diagnostics and therapeutics. He is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management. Dr. Arbuckle’s areas of medical interest include interventional pain management and degenerative spine disease.

 

 

Neil Farren, M.D.

 

Neil D. Farren, M.D. is board-certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Dr. Farren is a fellowship-trained interventional spine specialist and has received the latest training in non-operative therapeutic and diagnostic techniques used to treat all aspects of spine pathology.

Dr. Farren is a native of Philadelphia, PA and came to Indiana for his undergraduate education at DePauw University.  He then received his master’s in biology from IUPUI before spending 3 years in the biomedical engineering field.  During that time, he worked on development of catheter technology for interventional cardiology, publishing multiple peer-reviewed papers on the topic.

Dr. Farren attended Indiana University School of Medicine.  He completed his intern year at Ascension St. Vincent and his anesthesia residency at Indiana University School of Medicine.  Following residency, he completed his interventional pain medicine fellowship at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he received the latest training in non-operative spine care.  He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at regional and national conferences on interventional spine care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Farren enjoys spending time with his twins and wife.  He enjoys ice hockey, golf, and being outdoors.

Robert Funk, M.D.

 

 

Robert D. Funk, M.D. is a fellowship-trained, double board-certified minimally invasive spine specialist. Dr. Funk has extensive training in advanced non-operative interventional techniques of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine and is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine.

Dr. Funk is an Indianapolis native and attended Indiana University School of Medicine. He then completed residency and fellowship at the University of Michigan, recognized as one of the top training institutions in the country. During residency, he was elected chief resident highlighting his commitment to excellent clinical care, leadership and positive professional interaction.

After residency, Dr. Funk completed a pain medicine fellowship involving extensive experience with spine and ultrasound-guided interventions. This specialized fellowship training and his focus on continuing education allow him to offer the latest in safe, proven interventional techniques for all types of spine pain.

Dr. Funk has published in peer-reviewed journals and presents at international and national society meetings. Additionally, he has special interests in vertebral compression fracture management (kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty), spinal cord stimulation and spinal facet disease.

Jonathan P. Gentile, M.D.

Jonathan P. Gentile, M.D., is a minimally invasive spine specialist with Indiana Spine Group focusing on spinal diagnostics and therapeutics. He is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management. His professional interests include interventional pain management and neuromodulation.

 

 

 

 

Meredith Langhorst, M.D.

 

Meredith Langhorst, MD, an interventional spine specialist completed her internship and family medicine residency at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis and completed her multidisciplinary spine fellowship at OrthoIndy.  Dr. Langhorst  focuses on medical management of patients who present with spinal disorders including cervical and lumbar disc herniations, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis and spondylolysis.  She performs interventional spine procedures including lumbar epidural steroid injections, selective nerve root blocks, facet injections, discography and rhizotomy.

Kevin Macadaeg, M.D.

 

Kevin E. Macadaeg, M.D., a founding member of Indiana Spine Group, is a minimally invasive spine specialist focusing on spinal diagnostics and therapeutics. Additionally, he is a clinical assistant professor for Indiana University School of Medicine’s department of anesthesiology, and an adjunct assistant professor for the physician assistant program at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Butler University. He is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management. Dr. Macadaeg’s areas of special medical interest include minimally invasive spinal diagnostics / therapeutics and spine research.

 

 

Ashwin Madupu, M.D.

 

Ashwin Madupu, M.D. is board-certified both in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He is a fellowship-trained interventional spine specialist and has received the latest training in non-operative therapeutic and diagnostic techniques used to treat all aspects of spine pathology.

Dr. Madupu graduated from Osmania Medical College, one of the most prestigious medical schools in India. He moved to the United States after graduating from medical school and finished his surgical internship and anesthesia residency in New York. He then completed his Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is fluent in English, Telugu and Hindi.

Todd E. Schmidt, M.D.

 

Dr. Todd E. Schmidt is an interventional pain management physician with Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Indiana University School of Medicine, and trained to be an anesthesiologist at the University of Virginia. He also practiced anesthesiology at St.Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for seven years.

Dr. Schmidt completed a fellowship in pain medicine at the IU School of Medicine. He currently is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Schmidt treats a wide range of patients with acute and chronic spine-related pain disorders.

 

 

 

 

Jose Vitto, M.D.

 

Jose Vitto, M.D., is an anesthesia and interventional pain management fellowship-trained physician. He completed his residency in anesthesia and preliminary surgery and his fellowship training in anesthesia/pain medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Vitto is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine. He comes to ISG after spending several years as the director of a Pain Management Center.

Dr. Vitto is originally from Venezuela and fluent in Spanish. He attended medical school at Universidad de Los Andes in Merida, Venezuela. Dr. Vitto was accepted into medical school in Venezuela at age 17, and he finished at the top of his class at age 24.

His professional memberships include Indianapolis Medical Society and Indiana State Medical Association.

Dr. Vitto has extensive experience performing minimally invasive spine procedures, including spinal cord stimulators, vertebroplasties, cervical, thoracic and lumbar selective nerve root blocks, medial branch nerve blocks, peripheral nerve blocks, occipital nerve blocks, sciatic nerve blocks, facet joint blocks, sympathetic nerve blocks, transforaminal epidural steroid injections, hip injections, coccyx blocks, trigger point injections, intercostal nerve blocks, sacro-iliac joint blocks and many other interventional pain management procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
